Le 7 février 1987 Michael Jordan participait à son second concours de dunks après avoir été battu par Dominique Wilkins en 1985. Cette fois le Hawk n’était pas là mais il affrontait Clyde Drexler, Ron Harper, Jerome Kersey, Terence Stansbury, Tom Chambers, Johnny Dawkins et Gerald Wilkins. Avec un fameux dunk de la ligne des lancers il remportait son premier titre
