Les Wolves sans pitié avec les Bucks
Belle démonstration des Minnesota Timberwolves dans une affiche inter-conférence face aux Bucks. Les locaux s’imposent sans souci 108-89 pour porter leur bilan à 33-22 alors que les Bucks sont désormais à 27-23.
Minnesota a été mené par un super duo Jimmy Butler (28 points à 8/15, 4 rebonds et 6 passes) – Karl-Anthony Towns (24 points à 10/13 et 11 rebonds). Les Wolves se sont régalés en attaque en rentrant 53.8% de leurs shoots et de l’autre côté ils ont limité les Bucks à 37.% et ce ne sont pas les 15 rebonds offensifs de Milwaukee qui ont compensé ça. Giannis Antetokounmpo a été parfaitement contenu avec 17 points à 6/14, 15 rebonds et 6 passes alors que Khris Middleton ajoute 21 points à 7/20 mais cela n’a pas suffi pour arracher une 5ème victoire de rang.
Il n’y a pas eu de match, Milwaukee ayant tenu seulement 6 minutes avant de sombrer, bien trop maladroit. Les Wolves ont pris les commandes sur un 8-3 pour terminer un vilain premier quart (23-17) avant de s’envoler dans le second en trouvant de l’adresse. Ils ont shooté à 13/18 sous l’impulsion de Bulter et KAT alors que Milwaukee ne rentrait que 9 de ses 25 tentatives. L’écart a gonflé à vu d’oeil : 32-24 puis 49-31 puis 60-39 à la pause. Mais Milwaukee n’a pu ralentir Minnesota et retrouver de l’adresse et les locaux ont tranquillement file vers la victoire.

Jeff Teague added nine points and eight assists for Minnesota, which was coming off consecutive losses at Atlanta and Toronto. The Timberwolves have lost six of their last seven road games and have returned home with back-to-back losses from their last three road trips.
Each time, Minnesota has responded at home with a victory, winning by an average of 14.25 points. The Timberwolves’ 21-6 home record represents the second-most home wins in the NBA behind San Antonio’s 22.
Khris Middleton scored 21 points for Milwaukee, which had won four in a row. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 17 points and 15 rebounds, but the Bucks shot 37.6 percent from the field and committed 15 turnovers.
« They just didn’t let up, » Middleton said. « They got a lot of easy shots, a lot of easy baskets; offensive rebounding. They’re a physical team, and they just worked us. They made us grind it out, and they were real physical with us all night. »
In the first meeting between the two teams, Milwaukee erased a 20-point deficit in the third quarter for a 102-96 home win.
« When you’re down it’s not only scoring but you’ve got to get the stops and run, » Bucks interim coach Joe Prunty said. « That’s the whole thing, we let them shoot a high percentage tonight. They had about 50 points in the paint. »
