Selon Shams les Spurs de San Antonio et l’intérieur Gorgui Dieng ont trouvé un accord. Il s’agit d’un contrat d’un an dont on ne connait pas le montant.
C’est un retour à San Antonio pour Dieng, qui y avait terminé la saison 2020-21. Il n’avait pas été conservé et s’était engagé avec les Hawks.
A Atlanta il a très peu joué : 8.4 minutes en 44 matchs pour 3.5 points à 47.3% dont 42.6% de loin et 2.8 rebonds. Il était également courtisé par les Wolves.
